Election of United Pb. and Haryana Journalist Association, PS Mitha became the chairman

Chandigarh December 23: The meeting of United Punjab and Haryana Journalists Association was held under the chairmanship of Haryana senior journalist Rajeev Sarma in Chandigarh in which journalists from different districts of Punjab and Haryana participated. In the meeting, the problems of journalists working in the field were discussed. To solve this, the Executive Committee of the Association was formed in the presence of journalists. In which senior journalist of Mauhali district Dharminder Kumar Dhami Sarman as president, Punjab senior journalist Narinder Jagga as general secretary, PS Mitha as chairman, Rajiv Sarma as treasurer for Haryana, senior vice president Amit Kalia for Jirakpur, Vijay Singla for Panchkulan. President, Dharminder Singh Dhaliwal Barnala was elected Vice President, Secretary Sanjeev Bansal Haryana, Joint Secretary Mohit Soni Haryana, Subhash Saini Haryana, Press Secretary Gurbaz Gill Bathinda, Executive Members Gurvinder Singh Guri, Yashpal Bathinda and Sandeep Singh Barnala were elected.
In the meeting, newly appointed president Dharmendra Sarma assured that he will work diligently for the welfare of journalists. He said that the journalists of Punjab and Haryana will be brought together on one platform and will establish contact with the two governments to solve the problems of the journalists of the two states. He said that he will open a front in favor of the journalists along with the prosecution of the false cases filed against the journalists. He said that personal insurance will be provided free of charge by the association for journalists. The journalists whose yellow cards have been cut will talk to the government. Apart from this, the association will work to give official rights to journalists of registered YouTube channels, news portals and websites. Punjab’s senior journalist and general secretary Narendra Jagga said journalists need to come forward to fight for their rights. He said that a seminar is being conducted by the association for the journalists of Punjab and Haryana, the date of which will be fixed soon. He said that to strengthen the association in Punjab and Haryana, meetings will be held in the district and a unit of the association will be formed in every district. This information was given by Gurbaz Gill, press secretary of the association.
